Criticism of certain sections of the Palm Sunday sermon at Charlottetown CRC.

Before I give my criticism I want to clarify that I am not saying our guest Pastor is a hellhound heretic or false Christian.

I wanted to give some criticism of the last sermon I heard at the Charlottetown CRC church. The sermon started off pretty well on point with talking about the importance of passover to Christ's life and Resurrection.

It seemed like it was going to be a very good and Biblical sermon based on what the Passion meant and what people thought The Messiah was going to do. However, at one point the sermon lost its Biblical grounding and went out of not only left field, but, any field.

The Pastor went into a tirade about going outside the box. That God works outside the box and began to give something Chris Rosborough would have a field day over. He kept going on and on about going outside the box. This is a very dangerous message to be sending.

It makes a case for moving outside of God's Breathed Word the Scriptures and look for God elsewhere. This leads people to think that God can be anywhere regardless of if it is Biblical or not. It can lead to actual Heresy or even accepting Progressive or New Age false Christianity.

Further disturbing was the Pastor claiming that God gave him a direct word of revelation in his Shower that morning. He claimed God gave him the theme of his message. This is going outside The Scriptures.

He then goes on a tirade about a resurrection following every Good Friday. This is no where talked about in the Scriptures. The passion has nothing to do with us it is historical narrative of our Lord's last days and not about us.

His tirade about us all going to the Holy Land is taking the Scriptures completely out of context and the Holy land was one again historical narrative. In addition the still small voice is not how you know God that can only be confirmed by reading your Bible.

We are not going to the Holy Place nowhere is such a place mentioned associated with Lord's Supper nor Heaven. The Holy Land was historical narrative related to Gods chosen people the Jewish people in the Old Testament.

I was flabbergasted that a church that prides itself on taking the Word of God as its sole Authority would have someone with such issogesis sermons at their church. I do not know if they had any idea he would be so out their in parts of his sermon.

I would like to know what was his theological difference with his old Denomination. I pray he realizes he needs to turn back to taking his quea from the God Breathed word and not voices or thoughts in his head.
