Last night I was my second night of my phase 2 of my men's group. One of the things that I do not really get into with my fellow members of the group is politics. It is not because I am ashamed of being conservative and a right winger. It is because it is a time for us to talk about issues related to our own lives that is personal and not political. However, all one of the members would need to do is to visit this blog to see my views on any number of things from politics to LGB issues.
It is similar to how I do not talk about my atheism with my fellow members which includes believers. They know I am atheistic and we do not talk about our religious differences. However, if one were to visit this blog my views on religion are all over the posts I have put up in the past. If someone were to want to talk about or delve deeper into my views outside of our time within a session I will give them said information no matter if we agreed or disagreed.
I would not be interested in debating them, but, I would be more than happy to provide my views. In a free society they should walk away tolerant of our different views happening to not be the same. However, time and place are so important to when one brings up these things. Context is the key.
