According to Objectivism, reason is man’s faculty of knowledge—it is his tool for grasping the world and guiding his action in it. But Objectivism also holds that reason is a value—i.e., something to be acquired or preserved. What does it mean to view reason as a value, as opposed to viewing it merely as a faculty or a capacity?
