Dr. Dr. Madhav Khandekar is past Environment Canada researcher, past IPCC expert reviewer, WMO regional expert, author of more than 150 peer-reviewed papers and a peer reviewer. He spoke at Friends of Science 2018 annual event on extreme weather events, explaining that these are integral to climate and weather patterns. Carbon dioxide is unrelated to extreme events; a carbon tax will not stop them. He also explained the economic losses related to increasing cold snaps which the media ignore.
