The latest Just Right Media episode misunderstands The Essentialized Political Compass-Spectrum

This evening I listened to the latest episode of Just Right Radio from Just Right Media which was all about the political compass/spectrum. They seemed to have a completely ignorant view of the political spectrum as featured on The Objective Standard from back in 2012. The episode was nothing short of a complete take down of a straw-man version of "The Essentialized Political Spectrum." In other words a take down of not the article that explained the spectrum, but, of Bob Metz own ignorant assumptions based on not knowing the actual "essentials" of the spectrum at all.

He took one look at the spectrum design and jumped to the conclusion that it meant "Rightism" on its scale was meaning no force at all. If he had done his research and actually looked over the article or listened to the podcast he would know it was referring only to the initiation of coercion/initiation of force/initiation of the removal of consent in society by the government. It was not meant to mean no force as in no government by any means. The article itself or the podcast if you are too busy to read states that "Rightism" will require force against those whom wish to initiate non-consent/coercion and force on people.

Another mistake that was made was Bob assuming that the spectrum containing a middle was the same as saying that initiation or retaliatory exclusive force was not a binary alternative. The whole point of the very article and spectrum it explains is that initiation of force or just use of force was a binary. That force VS freedom is the alternatives that are in question. It even mentions right in the article and podcast that the choice is binary and that is why such a right-left spectrum/compass should be used. Craig Biddle whom wrote the article in question makes the entire premise for the article about the need for force in just use being put under Objective control in a just society.

The whole point of the article which was being analyzed and chewed to shit was that the use of force was the primary and not the size of government. So, what is Bob even criticizing? To me it seems just like when Just Right Radio used too chew Allen Small out on the air, but, just not in name. Two people whom agree on the fundamental and essentials of philosophy being pitted against each other because he dared to try and bring some sanity to the Ontario Libertarian Party. Here Craig Biddle said that force was required in defense and even a large government might be in order to protect rights. He acknowledge that an "extreme retaliatory force" might be necessary for the defense of individual rights. Which is the very thing that Bob is trying to correct him by saying.

Did Bob even understand the meaning behind the heading on the right which reads "Rights-Respecting Ideologies?" The whole point was that "Rightism" properly defined was belonging as a home to Capitalism, Classical Liberalism, Constitutional Republicanism and the like. Forms of government force that only are used in the defense of individual rights. Did he not read how derogatory Craig called out the so-called moderate or middle or center? Bob claims the center is imaginary which completely erases all those whom indeed do take some of the good and some of the bad and mix it. It is not that the middle is separate from drifting to the left, but, the point is exactly that they are and Rightists need to point out this essential to them.

Bob just like in his attacks on Allen refuses to see when someone else might be saying the same thing as him in a different way. Or when someone might be an Objectivist and find that the application of his same philosophy comes to a different conclusion for completely rational reasons. He is so completely stuck in a narrow field of vision that it stops him from seeing when he is chewing out someone else pretty much espousing the same political compass as him in a slightly different manner. This follows his constant defense of every little thing Donald Trump ever does exclaiming him to be the best President since ever. Bob is in my opinion in such a bubble that he does not understand the broader world anymore. Such a pity!
