It is often assumed that to be a Capitalist means supporting rampant greed and supporting the complete deregulation of the entire economy. That a free marketeer equals being for unhampered exploitation and complete privatization of Non-Judicial government actors. However, this would not be correct. This is the ideology of Libertarian Economics and is not identical to being a Capitalism proponent.
Many sectors such as Health Care and the Environment need a healthy dose of government regulations. This does not mean we should not cut red tape where possible. I am for less red tape and where possible deregulation is still a good idea. I am equally for cutting taxes where possible, but, we do need taxation to provide government services and assistance programs for those whom truly are in need.
I am for Health Care choices being expanded, but, I am not for removing Universal Access nor Universal Health Care payments. I am in favor of those payments being able to be used for whichever health care choices families and individuals which to chose. Whether spent at a Governmentally owned operation or a Private option. The money should be portable and attached to the person as a means of growing access to health care.
Government assistance programs are not anti market nor anti Capitalism. We need a well financed welfare program for those in need. However, wherever possible said welfare should include a path to work or forms of self ownership of businesses.
Government taxation is also rightfully used for educational financing. However, financial assistance should follow the child and be able to be used for whatever schooling the family wishes their children to have. We need true school choice, but, we must not make that an excuse to cut funding for education.
Privatization is also not evil like those on the left think. One can Privatize something while keeping it needfully regulated and even where needed assisted by the tax system. Privatizing where appropriate is different from privatizing everything.
Essentially, I am pro economic choice and freedom in that sense. While also being in favor of a generous government program of tax funding for citizens to have access to the choices where applicable. I am pro free markets and not Socialism which makes me fall on the Biblical Capitalism side of the economic spectrum while supporting much more government involvement then the libertatianally minded Christians would be.
Of course, my social conservative views on social issues stops me automatically from being lassiez faire economically. As not all trades would be legal. This also means I am not a libertarian, but, staunchly a Biblical conservative. The idea that Capitalism equals lassiez faire is a false dichotomy.
